U.S. BUREAU OF LABOR STATISTICS MONTHLY JOBS SUMMARY

Over 12 months, hires totaled 73.2 million and separations totaled 689.9 million, yielding a net employment gain of 3.3 million.

Both the unemployment rate, at 6.1%, and the number of unemployed persons, at 9.8 million, were little changed in April.

Employers added only 266,000 jobs last month, the government reported Friday morning, not the million or so that forecasters expected.

For College Graduates with a Bachelor's Degree and Higher, who are 25 years and over, the unemployment rate was 3.5% in April of 2021.
